Red Hill Lutheran Church offers a K.I.D.S. Ministry Program for all children in Kindergarten through 5th Grade.

Using a combination of large group and small group conversations and activities, we intentionally strive to create an engaging environment where children come to Know Jesus, Impact the world around them, become Disciples of Jesus, and Serve others - K.I.D.S.! All kids are invited to join us, regardless of church affiliation.

Can you imagine needing to walk through the desert? You’d be surrounded by cacti, sand, snakes, and more sand. With the heat of the sun, we’d wind up so thirsty and wondering “Are we there yet?” That’s probably how the Israelites felt as they wandered around the desert, waiting to enter the Promised Land. But no matter how tired our feet get, we can focus on what’s happening in our lives right now rather than just on where we’re going. In this teaching series based on stories from Exodus, we’ll explore how we can choose to be thankful, love God and others, turn to God when we’re lost, go to God when we need rest, and remember God’s promises.

During the month of October, Red Hill Lutheran Church and School is gathering loose change to support “World Vision.” World Vision is a global Christian humanitarian organization which partners with children, families and communities to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. Throughout the month, we will be praying for World Vision and their efforts to meet the needs of poverty and education and that the Gospel can be shared throughout the world. Our Youth and Family Ministry (YFM) Team is devoted to the whole family throughout all the phases. We take a personal approach to ministry spanning a family's ages and stages. Each area partners dedicated staff, invested and trained small group leaders, and loving, supportive parents to leverage relationships for the sake of deep faith in the lives of our children and students. Our community purposefully seeks to walk with families as they raise godly and incredible kids. Our specific ministry areas share timely encouragement and program information.

We have a wonderful Family Resource Library with books from newborn to college age on topics including "what to expect" at each age, as well as a variety of other topics. These resources are available on the patio every week.

Itzel Mancilla-Murillo

RHL Children's Ministry Coordinator

Itzel has served on our Children's Ministry Team in a variety of roles since 2020. Currently, she serves as RHL's Children's Ministry Coordinator and 2nd Grade Small Group Leader. While Itzel is a YFM leader on nights and weekends, she is a scientist and healthcare provider by day. Itzel received her Bachelor’s in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology from UCLA and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Genetic Counseling from UCI. Although Itzel's professional background is in science, she enjoys fostering an environment kids can explore, learn, and ultimately grow in their faith. Serving in K.I.D.S. Ministry has allowed Itzel an opportunity to channel her own innate curiosity to nurture the interest of children in their walk with Jesus. When not working on the next game or lesson for ministry, you can find Itzel reading her latest book, hanging with her crazy pups, enjoying some time with her large family, or investigating the next topic that has caught her eye.
