The Lenten Season

On Ash Wednesday, February 18th, we will begin the sacred season of Lent. The word Lent comes from the Middle English word, “Lente,” meaning “spring time.” Historically and to this day, Lent is understood to be a holy “springtime for the soul.”

Palm Sunday marks the end of Lent and the beginning of Holy Week, which ends with the celebration of Easter. After the contemplative season of Lent, we follow Jesus' journey to the cross and celebrate his ultimate victory in his resurrection - a reason to celebrate indeed!
